Sound City Players

It was a great show at the Hollywood Palladium last night for the Sound City Players concert. As the night went on they showed clips from the documentary, before each artist performed. The first two hours it was hard rock and punk rock bands. I have never been to a punk or hard rock concert but after a while Carol, Dana and I were bopping g our heads like the rest of the crowd. John and Stevie Nicks were the last two that performed. It was about midnight when John came on and they showed John’s clip and then John and Dave ROCKED the house. John opened with a blistering version of Travlin’ Band, then Born on the Bayou, Centerfield, KOC , Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising and a fantastic version of Fortunate Son. I’m not being bias because I’m a fan of John but he got the biggest response from the crowd. We got home early in the morning slept a few hours and off to work. I talked with my coworkers who are much younger than me about the show they really loved the artists that performed last night. I didn’t know what to expect but it was a great time. John looked and sounded great I hope he tours again soon.

I am so happy that you and Carol were lucky enough to get inside the Palladium to see the show! I heard it was really fantastic!
A radio DJ on KROC 106.7 FM was making a commentary about the show on-air yesterday.
At first, I didn't understand what he was talking about - he was talking about a Palladium show that took him back into rock n roll history; and he loved all the artists who performed.
Then he said he said that he didn't really know who JOHN FOGERTY was, but his voice and his songs were the BEST of the night!!!

He said he is going to get up to speed with John and where he comes from.

Never too late to understand the roots, my friends!!!

The guy is a DJ on KROC and doesn't know who John Fogerty is? He should be looking for a new job.

That's hilarious about the KROQ DJ. I guess everyone's gotta start somewhere. Dan, thanks for the awesome review of the show. It really was such a special night and I agree, John got the best reception of all the artists. His songs are just too powerful to ignore.

YES, it's true! KROQ 106.7 on the FM dial! I like to listen to this station because they play alot of the newer, kick ass rock tunes. To be fair y'all, I have NO IDEA WHO this DJ is! So ---- he doesn't fully appreciate John Fogerty's fame yet, but I don't even know the DJ's name!
He seems like a humble man, so let's cut him a bit of slack. At least we know he is learning and that's what's important! Just keep looking ahead and advancing!!!

Anyhow - he sounded quite young, (like in his twenties) so ya gotta give him some time to get caught up with the world. He may know who Creedence is, but sometimes it takes time to fully understand who the creator of Creedence's music was.

Anyhow - so glad Dana and our crowd of good friends made it in the door that night!!!
It makes me really happy to know that John is in great health, he's makin' his music and
that's got to mean he's really experiencing alot of personal as well as professional happiness.

    Peace & blessings to all!!!! X O X O X O

I remember back in John's down time between EOTZ and BMS, a lot of my coworkers were not at all familiar with John. I had just gotten married and my wife and I had a condo in Long Beach. My neighbor and I were outside working in our garages and I had my truck pulled out. On the back window of my truck--in large white stencil--I had placed, "John Fogerty....Rockin' All Over the World." My neighbor came up and asked, "Are you John Fogerty?" So, after I'm done in the garage, I go inside and tell my wife what the neighbor said. She asks me, "The guy hasn't put out a record in almost a decade, are you surprised?" Then she says, "By the way, if John Fogerty pulled up behind you and saw what you had on the back of your truck, what would he think?" I told her that he'd probably think I was some weird stalker/fanatic type, so I took the stencil off. A year later, JF came out with BMS and I told my wife I was going to put the John Fogerty stencil back on and she asked me, "How old are you?".......I have no idea where I'm going with all of this, but suffice it to say my back window remained clean but my neighbors became VERY familiar with Blue Moon Swamp and John Fogerty.
