John Fogerty Memoirs - To Be Released in 2014

Mon, Nov 12, 2012 at 3:23 PM

So John will be releasing his autobiography at some point in 2014. Pretty cool... sounds like it will contain a LOT about his 1970s and 80s struggles against the record company and the "brown down cowboy" period of his life. Looking forward to it.... hopefully we'll have a new album by the time this book is released!

I wonder who influenced who in Creedence? I can't help but imagine that Tom Fogerty was John's single most important influencer in his earliest years. Before that, it was his mother that would play those old Stephen Foster songs on the turntable.
John' s mom would take him to those folk music festivals and John loved being in the thick of things.

Perhaps it was older bro Tom who taught John some of his guitar tricks. Or maybe John tricked Tom into teaching him his guitar secrets?
I just can't help but wonder how the seed was planted in John's creative mind.

It is said that musical intelligence is a birthright. You can try to learn music, just like a person who isn't a singer learns how to sing. It's genuine / It's my belief that to become a singer, you have to be born with that raw ingredient - to sing and sound credible.

John was born to be a singer/songwriter. I have heard him talk about Elvis and the Beatles being his earliest boost of inspiration, but I have to think that it happened much earlier than that - soon after his birth - it HAD to have.
Somehow, there was music in his infancy - it is very evident because his older brother was musically gifted as well.

It makes Fogerty fans world wide very happy to hear that a book about John (by John) is on it's way.

I know that John could dither and say, "I don't want to walk through all that old pain again" because sometimes memories are like a minefield, but he already knows where the mines are planted, so he can step around the more painful ones. He is right to want to share more details about his life, because his legacy demands more answers about his background and perhaps, his thought processes.

Does the music find him? Or does he find the music?
What is the process of song genesis for John Fogerty?
I hope he will devote alot of energy to explain his personal process of songwriting with us.

I think John Fogerty has done a huge amount of work to build up his legacy in the past 15 years. Just imagine if he just layed dormant and not come out of hiding. What would we all be doing at the present moment without his great and powerful music being played in concert?

His songs are said to be so simple, but it is the simplicity that is so powerful.

I know John credits Julie his wife, for his resurrection, and I'd like to hear all about it. But deep down inside, it's all John - all the way. He credits this beautiful woman for breathing the life back into his broken down soul, but truth be told, his talent never died.
It was there buried deep down inside of his unconsconciousness all along, but it took this woman's rare love and beauty and caring to dig it all back up.

I'm sure it wasn't an easy process.
I'd love to hear all about his healing. GOSH - - - - he shouldn't think too deeply about it, just lay it all down like how he wrote his songs.
Quickly and fully. I hope he's not succinct. I want da man to ramble!!!!

He should ramble all over the place telling his story.

When Creedence became world superstars, I'd love to hear how he penned those great songs. HOW on earth did he do it? Why wasn't he afraid? What gave him the confidence to do what he did?
And when the band imploded, why was he so secretive?
Why did John run and hide?
WHy didn't he release a statement to his fans to tell us not to worry? Didn't he know that we'd be worried about him? Or did he plan a quick return, only to get derailed, time and time again?

I think the world still sort of holds a small amount of resentment about that abandonment, but if you're like me, all is forgiven and we are just so relieved that John Fogerty is so successful at what he does best.
Making the best rock n roll music ever heard, worldwide!!!!

This is such incredibly great news!!! I am so happy and I love it so much that we are finally getting a chance to read and understand.
    PEACE/out!
