HARD ROCK AT HYDE PARK THIS FRIDAY ON SKY
I know it has mentioned in a previous post that management were only allowing one song to be aired in the programme albet no date was mentioned. I can confirm that the three day festival condensed into 2 hours is on SKY ARTS Channel this Friday 17/8/12 2100 hours BST.
So if the information is correct we will see the Old Man Down The Road and that will be it.
regards

hi tommy
Recorded the hard rock concert and watched most if it this morning.............well we barely got "the old man down the road " .........a small interview with john and that was that, one thing which interested me was most of the artist they interviewed said it was great to be on the same billing as john fogerty and bruce springsteen, yet if you blinked you missed fogerty.

good to hear from you Steve and hope you are well.
It was a pretty poor limited show and you wander whether its JCF Management dictating matters or the Show Producers but what was shown I enjoyed so thanks for that.
If memory serves me right there was a similar issue as to the television coverage when John appeared at Glastonbury when coverage of his set was very limited

Re: HARD ROCK AT HYDE PARK THIS FRIDAY ON SKY
About 60 minutes from John's show in Glastonbury (2/3s of the show) were shown on TV shortly after he performed there. It was even shown in reruns a couple of times, if I remember it correctly. Also, a number of songs from the concert have appeared as bonus videos on various special editions of the Revival CD.
About Hyde Park: I was there, and I can tell you that it's a good thing that they didn't show more... John had lost his voice completely that day, as he had been suffering from a bad cold for a few days already. It got a bit better when it warmed up after 4 or 5 songs, but even then, he sounded in really bad shape (his voice was a couple of octaves lower than usual, and he sounded like he had been drinking whiskey and smoking cigars daily all his life). I think that if this had been a 'normal' concert, John would probably have called in sick and cancelled it, and that he went on with it only because he didn't want to miss the chance to play with Bruce. The audience all around us saw his struggle and really appreciated that he wanted to go on and give us a great show even with his voice gone (everybody was cheering, even when he cleary missed the higher notes), but I really think that it would be an error to show too much of the show on TV, where people maybe won't realize what was going on and would just end up thinking that that is the way John normally sings these days...
